ABOUT THE ROLE



E. H. Gentry Facility is one of the most distinct and comprehensive education and rehabilitation programs in the United States. You will be part of a dynamic team committed to a championship philosophy that underscores the genuine belief in and potential of all individuals.

The Billing Specialist at the E. H. Gentry Facility is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring that data is effectively managed within the Salesforce system. This position will work closely with the Salesforce Administrator to integrate financial processes into the Salesforce platform, ensuring consistency and accuracy in data management. The Billing Specialist will also contribute to other administrative and operational tasks to support the overall mission of the E. H. Gentry Facility.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED certificate .
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word, as well as Google G-Suite.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or willingness to learn Salesforce for financial data.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting.
  • Ability to problem solve and work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to handle sensitive or restricted information in a professional and confidential manner.
  • Team player attitude and willingness to help where needed.
  • Must be able to obtain SLPI Level of SURVIVAL PLUS within 24 months from date of hire.
  • Upon offer of employment, the applicant must submit to a fingerprint background check at an agency designated and paid by AIDB



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Prior experience with Salesforce as an administrative tool, especially in a nonprofit or educational setting.
  • Experience in accounting for educational or rehabilitation institutions.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain accurate records using Salesforce and other tools.
  • Collaborate with the Salesforce Administrator to ensure financial data is correctly entered, stored, and managed in the system and troubleshoot issues related to financial data management.
  • Recognize and resolve Contract Service Request issues with the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services (ADRS) Liaison and other ADRS partners.
  • Compile and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to administrative staff.
  • Prepare and maintain records related to student attendance, enrollment, and other administrative functions, ensuring data accuracy in Salesforce.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of digital filing processes within Salesforce, collaborating with team members to streamline document management and reduce reliance on paper files.
  • Coordinate and prepare information for weekly admissions team meeting.
  • Serve as relief for receptionist during break, lunch and as needed.
  • Perform general administrative tasks, such as answering phones, filing, and providing support to other departments as needed.
  • Learn to adapt work flow to accommodate individuals who are Blind, Deaf, DeafBlind, or multi-disabled.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.

This is a non-exempt position and is subject to overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
